The Paralegal 1 performs a variety of law-related tasks such as legal research, drafting legal documents and other related duties. The Paralegal 1 work assignments are often straightforward and of moderate complexity.
The Paralegal 1 prepares, and files required documents with government entities, including Departments of Insurance and Secretaries of State, maintains corporate books and records, and performs legal and records research to identify relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material. The Paralegal 1 also drafts legal documents including articles, bylaws, written consents, agreements, forms, contracts and legal memoranda. Understands own work area professional concepts/standards, regulations, strategies and operating standards. Make decisions regarding own work approach/priorities and follows direction. Work is managed and often guided by precedent and/or documented procedures/regulations/professional standards with some interpretation.

Required Qualifications
+ Bachelors degree, paralegal studies degree or paralegal certificate
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (emphasis in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Professional and Lexis/Nexis
+ Proven organizational skills, as well as flexibility, and ability to manage multiple or competing priorities within designated time frames and adjust priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred skills
+ Corporate law or law firm paralegal experience preferably with experience in medical or Medicare/Medicaid insurance
+ Compliance, insurance, corporate governance, and/or auditing background
+ With supervision from the assigned attorney, reviewed and analyzed a broad range of agreements, amendments, non-disclosure agreements and related documents
