Job Summary

We are seeking an Associate Attorney for a direct hire opportunity with a respected legal services team in Orlando, FL. This role is ideal for a litigation attorney who is independent, detail-oriented, motivated, and ready to take ownership of liability matters from investigation through trial preparation.

The Associate Attorney will work on litigation matters with a focus on product liability, product defect, and general liability defense. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys substantive case work, client interaction, depositions, motion practice, and being part of a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Investigate and defend liability matters, including product liability, product defect, and related litigation claims.
- Take and defend depositions, argue hearings, draft pleadings, and prepare motions and other legal documents.
- Manage case preparation for trial, including discovery, witness preparation, evidence review, and litigation strategy.
- Communicate with clients regarding case status, strategy, reporting requirements, and key developments.
- Work collaboratively with partners, shareholders, associates, and legal support staff to advance litigation matters efficiently.
- Travel as needed for depositions, hearings, client meetings, and other case-related obligations.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $110,000 to $150,000 per year, depending on experience.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Handle litigation matters involving liability defense, product liability, product defect, and related claims.
- Take and defend depositions, argue hearings, and prepare cases for trial.
- Draft strong legal documents, including pleadings, motions, reports, and client communications.
- Investigate claims, analyze case facts, and develop effective defense strategies.

- 4 to 10+ years of litigation experience preferred by the firm, with 3 to 5 years also aligned to the position experience level.
- Strong working knowledge of investigating and defending liability matters.
- Experience reporting to and interacting with clients.
- Ability to manage litigation tasks independently while contributing effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent legal writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and exceptional work ethic.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage deadlines, priorities, and case responsibilities.
- Willingness and ability to work primarily in office Monday through Friday.
- Ability to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Product liability litigation experience.
- Product defect litigation experience.
- Trial experience.
- Experience preparing comprehensive case strategy and trial materials.
- Prior experience in defense litigation or liability defense practice.
