A client of ours located in Louisville, Kentucky is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to join their team. This position is responsible for managing the full-cycle real estate closing process, ensuring the accurate preparation of legal documentation, and maintaining seamless communication between all parties involved in property transactions. The ideal candidate will have the ability to handle complex title searches, resolve intricate escrow discrepancies, and ensure all filing deadlines are met with precision and integrity. This role is key in streamlining settlement workflows and contributing to the overall success of the firm’s transactional practice. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity offering a competitive base salary and benefits package.
salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year

Responsibilities
Title Examination and Clearing: Conducting thorough title searches through the Jefferson County Clerk’s online systems and physical records to identify liens, easements, or encumbrances that could stall a closing.
Closing Document Preparation: Drafting and finalizing deed transfers, Kentucky-specific mortgages, and Settlement Statements (ALTA/CD) for residential and commercial transactions.
Escrow and Fund Management: Coordinating the movement of earnest money and closing funds, ensuring all wire transfers and checks comply with Kentucky’s Good Funds Act.
Commercial Due Diligence: Assisting attorneys in reviewing surveys, zoning reports, and environmental assessments (Phase I/II) for local commercial developments and industrial projects.
Lender and Third-Party Liaison: Acting as the primary point of communication between local lenders (such as Stock Yards Bank or Republic Bank), real estate agents, and surveyors to align closing timelines.
Recording and Filing: Managing the timely electronic or physical filing of deeds and mortgages with the Jefferson County Clerk's Office to ensure proper perfection of liens.
Corporate Entity Support: Drafting specialized documents for real estate holding companies, including Kentucky LLC formation papers and Operating Agreements for property investors.
Lease Administration: Preparing and organizing commercial lease agreements and estoppel certificates for Louisville-area retail centers, office buildings, and warehouse spaces.
