Litigation ParalegalPosition Overview We are seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal to support our plaintiff-side litigation team, with a focus on personal injury matters. The Litigation Paralegal will manage case files, coordinate discovery, prepare pleadings and motions, communicate with clients and opposing counsel, and assist attorneys with trial preparation. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in civil litigation and discovery processes.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain a caseload of personal injury and civil litigation matters, ensuring deadlines and court dates are met.Prepare, draft, and proofread pleadings, complaints, answers, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence for filing with courts and service on parties.Coordinate and execute discovery: prepare discovery requests and responses, organize and produce documents, review incoming discovery, and manage privilege logs.Assist with intake and case evaluation, obtain and review medical records, bills, and liens, and summarize medical records and damages.Organize and manage electronic case files using case management software; ensure all documents, exhibits, and pleadings are properly indexed and stored.Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, witness lists, and demonstratives; coordinate logistics for depositions, hearings, and trials.Communicate regularly and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, court personnel, and vendors to schedule depositions, medical examinations, and expert engagements.Conduct legal research and summarize statutes, rules, and case law relevant to litigation strategy and motion practice.Track and calendar statutes of limitation, filing deadlines, court appearances, and discovery timelines using docketing systems.Assist with settlement negotiations by preparing demand packages, settlement agreements, and calculating damages and lien obligations.Support attorneys during depositions and trials by coordinating exhibits, managing documents, and providing on-site assistance.Maintain confidentiality and adhere to firm policies and ethical standards in client interactions and case handling.QualificationsAssociate degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent legal education; Bachelors degree preferred.Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience in civil litigation with demonstrated plaintiff-side personal injury experience preferred.Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, civil discovery rules, and court filing requirements.Proven experience preparing pleadings, discovery documents, motions, and trial materials.Proficiency with e-filing systems, case management software, and document management (e.g., Clio, MyCase, TrialDirector or similar).Skilled in legal research tools (Westlaw, Lexis) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, counsel, and court staff.Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines concurrently.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; strong problem-solving skills.Familiarity with medical records, billing, and lien resolution in personal injury cases is highly desirable.Paralegal certification or membership in a professional organization (e.g., NALA, NFPA) is a plus.
