Job Summary
A well-established legal services organization in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal to support a growing litigation team. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented paralegal with experience in insurance defense, bodily injury, general liability, and medical record review.
The Insurance Defense Paralegal will work closely with attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle, from case intake through resolution. Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys with insurance defense litigation case management from intake through resolution.
- Review, summarize, and analyze medical records, medical billing documentation, and supporting evidence.
- Prepare medical chronologies, bill summaries, legal documents, and case materials.
- Manage litigation deadlines, maintain organized case files, and support daily case activity.
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and external parties.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal support tools to assist with litigation operations.
Compensation and Benefits

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support attorneys with insurance defense litigation case management from intake through resolution.
- Review and summarize medical records, medical billing documentation, and related evidence.
- Prepare medical chronologies, bill summaries, legal documents, and case materials.
- Manage case deadlines, communication, and litigation support activities in a fast-paced legal environment.
- 3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in insurance defense litigation.
- Experience supporting bodily injury and/or general liability matters.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes, case management, and legal document preparation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Professional communication skills for interacting with attorneys, clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and external parties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records and medical billing documentation.
- Knowledge of Florida court procedures and litigation processes.
- Prior experience in a law firm or litigation-focused legal services environment.
- Experience supporting insurance defense matters involving bodily injury, general liability, or related claims.
