Associate Attorney2 Days in Office Hybrid Scheduling1800 Billable HoursPosition OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our firm and provide high-quality legal representation and counseling to clients. The Associate Attorney will manage a diverse caseload, with primary emphasis on civil litigation and workers' compensation matters, and will support regulatory compliance work and contract drafting. This role requires strong legal writing, litigation experience, and the ability to negotiate and advocate effectively on behalf of clients.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise and counsel clients on all facets of Civil Litigation.Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, settlement agreements, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail.Handle all phases of civil litigation, including case intake, discovery, motion practice, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation and support.Manage an active caseload from intake through resolution, maintaining organized files, meeting deadlines, and tracking matters using case management systems.Conduct thorough legal research and draft persuasive legal memoranda, briefs, and client correspondence demonstrating strong legal writing skills.Develop litigation strategy and collaborate with partners, paralegals, and external counsel to prepare for hearings, depositions, and trials.Represent clients in court, administrative hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations, advocating for client interests and pursuing favorable outcomes.Ensure compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, and firm policies while advising clients on regulatory matters and compliance obligations.Maintain professional client relationships through timely communication, status updates, and effective client counseling.Assist with business development tasks including drafting client materials, attending networking events, and contributing to proposals and pitch documents.QualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the Washington state bar.3+ years of litigation experience, preferably with exposure to civil litigation and workers' compensation matters; candidates with a stronger record of civil litigation experience are encouraged to apply.Proven skills in client counseling, contract drafting, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy.Strong legal writing, research, and analytical abilities with attention to detail and persuasive drafting skills.Experienced case manager with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle a varied caseload independently.Familiarity with regulatory compliance issues relevant to civil practice and workers' compensation claims.Comfortable representing clients in court and administrative forums; trial experience is a plus.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused approach and professional demeanor.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while taking initiative on individual matters and contributing to business development efforts.BenefitsSalary + Potential for BonusHealth and dental benefitsParking or commuter benefitsPaid time off, and 11 paid holidays per year.After one year of employment, employees are eligible for our 401(k) plan with a firm contribution of 7% of salary.A hybrid work environment allowing for flexibility in remote and in-office work arrangements, based on needs of the firm.
