Small law office with a litigation-heavy practice seeking a full-time legal assistant / litigation support professional.
This is a full-time, on-site position . The person hired will work on active legal matters, including document preparation, court filings, client communication, deadline tracking, case status updates, and follow-up on pending tasks.
Position Responsibilities- Preparing and revising legal documents from templates and attorney instructions
- Filing documents through the Florida e-Portal
- Tracking deadlines, hearings, service of process, and case status
- Communicating with clients, courts, clerks, process servers, and opposing parties
- Organizing pleadings, notices, correspondence, and case files
- Updating internal spreadsheets, case notes, and task lists
- Following up on tasks until they are completed
This position requires accuracy and follow-through. Many tasks involve multiple steps, and the job is not complete until the filing, confirmation, case note, and necessary follow-up are handled.
The right candidate does not need to know everything on day one, but must be able to learn, take notes, follow procedures, ask appropriate questions, and improve over time.
Qualifications- Prior legal office experience required
- Florida e-Filing experience strongly preferred
- Prior civil litigation experience is a plus
- Strong writing and proofreading skills
- Comfortable using Outlook, PDFs, cloud files, spreadsheets, and online court systems
- Able to follow detailed procedures and retain instructions
- Professional phone and email communication
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and discreet
$22 - $25 per hour, depending on experience.
This is a full-time, on-site position.
