The Opportunity

Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking a skilled and experienced Immigration Paralegal to join our team handling employment-based immigration projects for our clients, including nonimmigrant (H-1B, E-3, TN, L-1A, L-1B, O-1, E-2, E-2) applicants. In this essential role, you will help ensure the smooth operation of our services, directly supporting our attorneys in delivering exceptional client service and upholding our commitment to excellence. This role will involve a variety of contributions to the team effort on immigration matters:

  • Communicate with employer HR representatives, individual applicants and government agencies.
  • Draft petitions, letters of support, legal memoranda and other documents in support of immigration petitions.
  • Assemble petitions and application packages, and work with attorneys to approve and finalize for filing.
  • Use specialized case management software to monitor deadlines, status and progress of petitions and expirations.
  • Track client communications and government correspondence.

The Immigration Paralegal provides quality and specialized document preparation, has extensive client contact and works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented Immigration Department. This is a cohesive Immigration practice team which is well-managed and well-organized with secretarial and clerical support.

Requirements

  • Must have 5+ years experience working as a NIV paralegal in a business immigration practice.
  • Strong experience and expert knowledge in preparing a variety of complex immigration processes such as NIV applications. Additional IV and PERM experience preferred.
  • Strong experience in preparing RFE responses.
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and INSZoom or other document management system.
  • Outstanding case management, time management, prioritization, client service, and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Successful candidates will possess strong business writing skills and will value attention to detail.
