Overview
An established mid-size litigation firm in the Denver Tech Center is seeking an Associate Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. The firm represents clients across a wide range of complex matters, including Arbitration & Mediation, Bad Faith, Commercial Litigation, Construction, Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy, Directors & Officers Liability, Employment, Fidelity & Surety, Insurance Coverage, Oil & Gas, Personal Injury, Products Liability, Professional Liability, and Tort Defense .

The firm is not hiring for a fixed headcount but is seeking the right candidate who brings strong litigation experience and aligns well with its culture.

Position Summary
The ideal candidate will have hands-on litigation experience and be comfortable managing cases from inception through resolution. This role offers significant responsibility and client interaction, with opportunities to handle all aspects of litigation, including pre-suit analysis, discovery, motion practice, and court appearances.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of litigation from case inception through resolution

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents

• Take and defend depositions

• Draft and argue dispositive motions

• Attend hearings in state and federal courts

• Handle written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests

• Collaborate with clients, experts, and colleagues to develop case strategy

• Provide case analysis, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

• 2-10 years of litigation experience in any practice area (excluding family law and criminal-only backgrounds)

• Demonstrated experience with core litigation tasks (depositions, motion practice, court appearances)

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Excellent attention to detail and sound professional judgment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

• Experience in insurance-related litigation, including coverage disputes, bad faith, personal injury, construction defect, or premises liability

• Exposure to any of the firm's core practice areas listed above

• Experience drafting coverage opinions or conducting examinations under oath

Licensure & Additional Requirements

• Active license to practice law in Colorado (or ability to obtain)

• Comfortable using legal technology and case management systems
