Legal Secretary

Pay Range: $19-$24/hour (DOE)

Location: Shreveport, LA

Employment Type: Temp-to-Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to provide administrative and clerical support in a professional legal environment. This role is responsible for document preparation, file management, scheduling, client communication, and ensuring deadlines are met accurately and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

* Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, contracts, correspondence, and reports.

* File legal documents with courts through e-filing and physical filing processes.

* Maintain organized case files, both digital and physical.

* Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, hearings, depositions, and appointments.

* Coordinate client communications, answer calls, and respond to inquiries professionally.

* Conduct basic legal research and gather case-related information as requested.

* Track deadlines and ensure timely submission of legal documents.

* Assist with billing, time entry, and expense tracking.

* Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and case information.

* Support attorneys and staff with additional administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

* Previous legal secretary, legal assistant, or related office experience preferred.

* Strong knowledge of legal terminology and legal document formatting preferred.

* Experience with court filing procedures, including e-filing, preferred.

* Excellent typing, proofreading, and data entry skills.

* Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

* Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

* High level of professionalism and discretion.
