The mandate of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) is to foster increased flows of international investment by providing an impartial and effective international forum for the resolution of disputes between host governments and foreign investors.

ICSID is hiring 6 senior paralegals to join its legal teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Training and mentoring GD paralegals.
Supervising paralegal work products for quality.
Assisting in workload coordination of paralegals.
Supporting Team Leader with reporting and system entries.
Coordinating across teams with other Senior Paralegals to increase consistency, knowledge sharing and efficiency.
Creating, updating and translating Best Practices templates and explanations.
Drafting, formatting and proofreading case correspondence in English, and French or Spanish, as applicable.
Preparing case document drafts for review by Team Leader and legal counsel.
Filing submissions in ICSID's document management system.
Coordinating and overseeing parties' submissions as uploaded to ICSID's external file sharing site and providing technical assistance to parties and arbitrators as needed.
Acknowledging receipt of parties' submissions and reviewing for completeness.
Tracking and maintaining case procedural details and milestones up to date in ICSID's case tracking systems and external website.
Creating and maintaining calendars of events (i.e., pending actions and deadlines) for each case and the team.
Coordinating and overseeing publication of case materials.
Conducting research and summarizing findings.
Preparing budget estimates for cases.
Assisting with financial monitoring and refunds.
Assisting with preparation of presentations for conferences and meetings.
Formatting, proofreading, cite-checking and editing awards, decisions, and other documents.
Preparing, coordinating and reviewing translations of case documents.
Participating in institutional projects.
Handling logistical arrangements for hearings and supporting the Secretariat's Hearings Organizer and Assistants.
Other ad hoc duties that the Secretary-General, Deputy Secretary-General and Team Leader may assign.
Selection Criteria
Bachelor's degree, Paralegal certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 3 years of relevant experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Spanish and / or French is an asset.
Proficiency drafting various types of correspondence and editing materials using proper grammar, punctuation, and style.
A proven history of administering cases, having demonstrated the ability to handle numerous and complex files in a proficient manner.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and deliver assignments promptly in a timely manner, with minimal supervision and often under severe time pressures.
Expert knowledge of legal processes, procedures and terminology for reviewing, examining, preparing and processing legal documents.
Excellent ability to research, analyze, and synthesize legal and other information and present results clearly and concisely.
Proficient legal document drafting skills and experience preparing basic case-specific budget estimates.
Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team.
Ability to assist team members by performing multiple, concurrent, and progressively more challenging assignments.
Fully proficient in computer skills, particularly in MS Word (with an emphasis on using Styles to create headings and generate tables on contents), Excel, and PowerPoint, and in using information databases, internet/intranet services, and library sources.
Advanced knowledge of and experience with videoconferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Cisco Webex, and MS Teams).
Tact and discretion in dealing with senior officials and staff at all levels.
Ability to adapt effectively to shifting work demands and institutional directives in a rapidly changing work environment.
Sense of responsibility, integrity, flexibility, and positive attitude.
Strong attention to detail.
