Job Summary
Job Description
Estate Plan, Probate, Trust Administration, Conservatorship Law Firm in the South Bay Area seeks to add a full time Legal Secretary.
We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated and enjoys working with people to help ensure smooth office management and effective case handling. You will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to lawyers and enhance office effectiveness
- Handle communication with clients, visitors, etc.
- Administratively support attorneys and paralegals
- Conduct research, when requested
- Locate and develop case-relevant information
- Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Maintain contact lists and client files
- Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a law office or legal environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with legal case management software (Clio) is a plus, as is familiarity with legal procedures and protocols.
- Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to learn new software.
- Legal Assistant/Secretary certification or diploma not required, but having is a plus.
- Salary is commensurate with experience.
