Minimum qualifications:

  • JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.

  • Experience in commercial contracting.

  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of contract, privacy, IP, or employment law issues in a technology context.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability and enthusiasm to leverage cutting-edge developments in AI to enable smarter and more efficient work processes.

ProLegal (Procurement Legal) is a global team of experienced deal lawyers and client advisors focused on powering Googles business and protecting the companys interests. ProLegal oversees a critical portfolio of cross-company procurement contracting, strategic partnership deals, and high-impact client counseling on enterprise-wide operations.

ProLegal guides teams across Google to achieve key business objectives by deploying our expertise on large-scale deals and related counseling support to drive Google's success across the entire businessproviding trusted strategic advice, drafting complex agreements, leading negotiations, and collaborating with cross-functional experts and stakeholders. ProLegal's role is central to enabling Googles global operations, accelerating strategic AI growth, facilitating crucial business opportunities, managing compliance and security risks, and leading innovative and scalable dealmaking for Google.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $218,000-$315,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Structure, draft, and negotiate high-value, complex commercial agreements for Googles largest and most strategic supplier relationships, including cutting-edge technology and enterprise services engagements.

  • Advise business clients and leadership pragmatically on legal issues and contracting approaches impacting enterprise-wide, global operations.

  • Partner closely with cross-functional experts across compliance, privacy and information security, employment, and tax to deliver unified, holistic risk management strategies on major deals.

  • Drive the continuous evolution of legal operations, deal processes, and company policies, including through the application of AI tools.
