JobSummary

AtCommunitiesInSchools,ourmissionistosurroundstudentswithacommunityofsupport,empoweringthemtostayinschoolandachieveinlife.ThispositionisresponsiblefortheoverallplanningandimplementationoftheCommunitiesInSchoolsmodelofintegratedstudentsupportsinstrongcollaborationandpartnershipwithbuildingstaffatidentifiedschools.Thisschool-basedpositionidentifiesandcoordinatesavailablecommunityresourcesanddevelopsnewstrategiesandpartnershipstoprovideadditionalsupporttostudentsandtheirfamiliesthroughconfidential,developmentallyappropriate,culturallysensitiveinterventions,servicesandsupports.

Responsibilities

Workwithschooladministrators,staff,teachersandCISleadershiptoensureateamapproachtobuilduponexistingstrategiesandleveragenewopportunitiestoaddresstheacademic,behavioral,social,emotionalandresourceneedsofstudentsandtheirfamilies.

Assesscommunity,school,andstudentassetsandneedstodevelopanannualCISsiteplanwhichidentifiesgoalsandleveragesexistingresourcestoavoidduplication.

Implementandcoordinatetheannualsiteplanstrategiestoincludeperiodicmonitoringtoassessimpactandadjustservicesasnecessary.

Manageacaseloadofindividualstudentsidentifiedwithschoolleadershipandstaffandprovideindividualsupportsthatmeettheuniqueneedsofeachstudent.

Providewholeschoolsupportsavailabletoallstudentsalignedwithidentifiedschoolgoals.

Maintainfrequentcommunicationwithbuildingleadershipregardingactivitiesandprogresstowardsgoals.

Buildandmaintainlocalformalandinformalcommunitypartnershipstofacilitateaccesstoneededresourcestomeettheneedsofstudentsandfamilies.

Serveasabroadercommunityresourcetoschoolsbysharinginformationandsupportingschoolfocusedactivitiessuchasschoolorientations,openhouses,andfamilyengagement.

Evaluatetheeffectivenessofschool-wideandtargetedstrategiesthroughasystematicdatacollectionprocessandreportprogresstoschoolleadershipandcommunitypartners.

MaintainapositiveimagebyunderstandinganddemonstratingtheCISmission,goalsandinitiativeswithintheschoolandcommunity.

Supportlocalandregionalpartnershipandresourcedevelopment,byprovidingcontentforgrantproposals,marketingopportunitiesandhostingsitevisitsasrequested.

Qualifications

RequiredQualifications

EquivalentofaBachelor'sDegreeand2yearsofrelevantworkexperience;AAdegreewith3yearsofrelevantworkexperience;or4yearsofrelevantworkexperience.

Strongrelationship-buildingskills,particularlywithdisengagedyouthandtheirfamilies.Thiscanbedemonstratedthroughworkexperience,volunteerexperienceand/orformalizededucation.

Demonstratedexperienceworkingwithyouth,knowledgeofandpassionforyouthdevelopment.

Abilitytoestablishandmaintaineffectiveworkingrelationshipswithschoolstaff,students,parents,communitypartners,andthepublic.

Abilitytoworkwithpeopleofdiverseculturalandsocio-economicbackgrounds.

Resourceful-abletoidentifymultiplesolutionstopresentingissues.

Strongverbalandwrittencommunicationskills.

DesiredQualifications

Experienceineducation,socialservices,mentalhealth,juvenilejustice,orrelatedfield.
