Job Summary
We are recruiting for an experienced Estates & Trusts Paralegal to join a well-established law firm in Pittsburgh, PA. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional with strong hands-on experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration.
The Estates & Trusts Paralegal will support a busy and respected practice group with meaningful client matters, complex filings, fiduciary accountings, and estate administration responsibilities. This is a strong opportunity for a paralegal who enjoys high-level legal support, client interaction, organized case management, and working closely with attorneys in a professional, team-oriented environment.
This fully on-site role offers stability, a collaborative legal team, supportive leadership, and the opportunity to contribute to sophisticated estates and trusts matters while continuing to build expertise in a specialized practice area.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare estate planning documents, including wills, revocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care proxies, irrevocable life insurance trusts, and related instruments.
- Support estate and trust administration by collecting asset information, preparing inventories, coordinating valuations and appraisals, marshalling assets, and assisting with transfers and distributions.
- Prepare and file probate petitions, Orphans Court documents, accountings, inventories, and other required filings for contested and non-contested matters.
- Conduct legal and factual research related to probate, estate, trust, and tax issues, and summarize findings for attorney review.
- Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, banks, financial institutions, accountants, and other third parties to gather information, coordinate actions, and provide status updates.
- Maintain organized case files, track deadlines, manage calendars, prioritize tasks, and support multiple active matters simultaneously.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $75,000 to $95,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Fully on-site position in Pittsburgh, PA.
- Monday through Friday schedule.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support estate planning, probate, estate administration, and trust administration matters from intake through completion.
- Prepare probate filings, Orphans Court documents, fiduciary accountings, inventories, and related legal documents.
- Coordinate asset collection, valuations, bill payments, distributions, and communications with clients and third parties.
- Assist with preparation of federal and state estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax return materials.
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent professional experience required.
- 6 to 10 years of relevant paralegal experience preferred based on the level of the role.
- Prior hands-on experience in estate planning, estate and trust administration, and/or probate required.
- Strong knowledge of legal document preparation, case file organization, deadline tracking, and matter management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple files and competing deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor when working with attorneys, clients, beneficiaries, and external parties.
- Proactive, team-oriented, forward-thinking, and able to work independently with sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Orphans Court procedures.
- Litigation support experience related to estates, trusts, probate, or fiduciary matters.
- Experience with legal document management systems.
- Experience assisting with federal and state estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax return preparation materials.
