Job Overview:
As a core team member of the Third-Party Subpoena Team, the Associate Paralegal is dedicated to supporting LPL Financial and its advisors by responding to third-party subpoenas in a timely and efficient manner. The Third-Party Subpoena Team handles highly confidential subpoenas relating to divorces, estates, employment matters, requests from law enforcement, and more. The Team also assists internal business partners with garnishment, lien, and levy questions from time to time. The Associate Paralegal will perform administrative duties, support other senior team members, and will also be assigned independent subpoena work.
This position will report to a Paralegal Manager, and will be supervised by an Attorney.
Responsibilities:
Administrative and operational duties associated with handling third-party subpoenas:
Act as primary gatekeeper for incoming subpoenas and related mail for the team
Entering case data into matter management system to track subpoenas
Downloading records from company systems
Drafting cover letters and invoices for subpoena production
Processing checks received for subpoena fees
Maintaining and updating templates and contacts lists
Communicate with attorneys and clients by phone and email
Partnering with internal departments to collect records
Review and redact records for subpoena responses
Assist senior paralegals with large productions

Requirements:
1-3 years of experience working in a paralegal role at a law firm or in-house law department.
1-3 years of experience in litigation.
Bachelors degree or paralegal degree
Core Competencies:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent grammar
General knowledge of litigation and subpoenas
Ability to work in a fast paced, complex environment and maintain own deadlines
Advanced proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel
General knowledge of matter management and document management software
Ability to manage caseload and re-prioritize tasks as necessary
Preferences:
Candidate should be a detail oriented, self-starter with excellent legal, analytical, customer service and communication skills.
Pay Range:
$27.48-$45.81/hourActual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
