Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Probate Paralegal for a direct hire opportunity in Tampa, FL. This in-office role is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional with strong probate, estate administration, and case management experience who enjoys supporting attorneys through complex legal matters from start to finish.

The Probate Paralegal will assist with estate and probate filings, client communication, legal research, document preparation, and case organization. Key Responsibilities

- Assist attorneys with estate administration and probate matters, including preparing petitions, inventories, accountings, and related court filings.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support probate strategies and compliance requirements.
- Manage and organize case files through document management systems, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and accessible.
- Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, courts, financial institutions, and government agencies to gather information and support estate settlement processes.
- Draft, review, proofread, and revise legal correspondence, probate documents, case summaries, and related materials.
- Track deadlines, coordinate case activity, and help maintain efficient workflows across multiple active estate and probate matters.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $70,000 to $85,000 per year.
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Location: Tampa, FL 33607.
- Work arrangement: In office only, no remote work.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support estate administration and probate case management from initial filings through settlement.
- Prepare and file probate documents, including petitions, inventories, accountings, and related legal forms.
- Conduct legal research and assist attorneys with document review, drafting, and case preparation.
- Coordinate communication with clients, beneficiaries, courts, agencies, and financial institutions.

- 6 to 10 years of paralegal experience, preferably with a focus on probate law, estate administration, or estate planning.
- Strong understanding of estate planning principles, probate procedures, legal case management, and document review requirements.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Experience with PCLaw, iManage, or similar legal practice management and document management systems preferred.
- Strong legal writing, proofreading, transcription, filing, data entry, and administrative support skills.
- Excellent organization, time management, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Professional communication skills, including client interviewing, phone etiquette, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with related practice areas such as family law, litigation, securities law, landlord-tenant law, workers' compensation, personal injury, immigration law, environmental law, patent law, tribal law, or UCC law.
- Prior experience supporting attorneys in a fast-paced legal services environment.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
