Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Litigation Paralegal for a direct hire/hybrid opportunity in Orlando, FL. This role is ideal for a legal professional with strong construction litigation experience, including 558 letters and complex business litigation matters.
The Construction Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys through a combination of litigation support, legal document preparation, e-filing, scheduling, client communication, billing coordination, and case file management. Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys and case teams with construction litigation and complex business litigation matters, including cases involving 558 letters.
- Prepare, proofread, format, and file legal documents, including correspondence, motions, notices, orders, hearing materials, proposed orders, and related litigation documents.
- Manage litigation calendars, including deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, meetings, travel, and appointments.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel, court reporters, judicial assistants, mediators, and internal team members.
- Maintain electronic and physical case files, process incoming and outgoing mail, and ensure documents are saved accurately in the document management system.
- Assist with attorney time entry, month-end billing processes, expense reports, vendor invoice tracking, file closing, and administrative support.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support construction litigation matters involving 558 letters and complex business litigation.
- Prepare, proofread, organize, and electronically file litigation documents in state, federal, and administrative venues.
- Coordinate case deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, meetings, and communication with internal and external parties.
- Maintain accurate legal files, billing support, attorney calendars, and case-related administrative workflows.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in a law firm or corporate legal department environment.
- Experience with construction litigation is required.
- Experience with complex business litigation is required.
- Plaintiff-side or defense-side litigation experience will be considered.
- Associate degree in paralegal studies or a related field is required.
- Strong understanding of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Ability to prepare client correspondence, engagement or retainer agreements, motions, notices, orders, hearing files, courtesy copies, and proposed orders.
- Experience with electronic court filing in appropriate state, federal, and administrative venues.
- Heavy typing and transcription skills required, with a minimum typing speed of 60 WPM.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Professional interpersonal and client service skills.
- Ability to organize legal files, manage workflow, and support attorneys in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in paralegal studies or a related field.
- Familiarity with iManage, FileSite, and Aderant.
- Prior experience supporting attorneys in construction defect, construction claims, or commercial litigation matters.
- Experience maintaining attorney Bar requirements, CLEs, board certification applications and renewals, and court admissions.
