Provides legal representation, advice and counsel to officials, administrators, academic units, and departments with the University. Oversees and directs complex subject areas within the Office of General Counsel. Represents the University in State and Federal courts, and in internal and external administrative hearings and proceedings. Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions) Preferred Qualifications 10 years of experience as practicing attorney. Prior experience representing South Carolina State Government Agencies. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Superior organizational and communication skills (including both oral and written communications). Sound analytical and research skills. Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, judicial decisions and policies. Knowledge of the laws of South Carolina. Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively. Strong inter-personal skills.
