A new Oregon-based boutique firm built on a self-help / limited-scope model is hiring an of counsel attorney to partner with us as we grow. We help clients keep costs down by handling much of their own legwork; you step in to draft, review, and appear when expertise is required.
What you'd do
Review and finalize client-prepared documents in business law, estate planning, real estate, and general civil matters
Draft documents the client can't reasonably do alone (operating agreements, trusts, deeds, complaints, motions, etc.)
Make court appearances as needed in Oregon
Advise on scope, risk, and limited-representation engagement letters under Oregon RPC 1.2(b)
What we offer
Competitive contract pay (hourly or per-matter negotiable)
Profit sharing in firm revenue, in addition to pay
Remote-first, with occasional in-person/court appearances in Oregon
Flexible hours keep your other work, build with us on the side
Real ownership of process: shape how the firm runs, not just a billable cog
Growth path as the firm scales
You are
Licensed and in good standing with the Oregon State Bar (active)
13 years of practice; comfortable being independent on routine matters
Confident in at least two of: business/corporate, estate planning, real estate, general civil
Willing to appear in Oregon state courts when needed
Comfortable with a limited-scope / unbundled services model
Malpractice insurance current (or willing to obtain)
Solo or small-firm background
Familiarity with document automation tools or legal tech
Mediation or ADR experience
To apply
Send a resume, a brief note on practice areas you'd own, and your hourly/contract rate
