Senior Trial Attorney a Insurance Defense

About the Role We are seeking a seasoned litigation attorney with substantial trial experience to join our expanding team in Los Angeles. This position is ideal for a confident trial lawyer who can independently manage complex insurance defense matters from intake through verdict while enjoying a flexible, modern work environment. What You'll Do - Manage insurance defense cases from investigation through trial and appeal - Develop case strategy, conduct discovery, take and defend depositions, and argue motions - First-chair or second-chair jury trials and arbitrations in Los Angeles-area courts - Evaluate liability and damages, prepare client reports, and advise on settlement strategy - Work directly with clients, adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel - Maintain ownership of your caseload with minimal supervision What We're Looking For - Active California license in good standing - 8+ years of litigation experience with meaningful jury trial experience as first or second chair - Background in insurance defense (auto, premises, general liability, construction defect, professional liability, or similar) - Ability to independently manage cases and meet deadlines - Excellent writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills - Familiarity with Los Angeles Superior Court practice is strongly preferred Why Join Us - Hybrid Schedule: Flexible Hybrid Schedule, a remote schedule with the ability to travel to the LA or Santa Monica office as needed may be considered - Flexible Culture: Autonomy, trust, and realistic billable expectations - Competitive Compensation: Salary range $270,000-$290,000 - Benefits: Health, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, generous PTO, CLE support - Growth Opportunities: Lead trials, mentor associates, and help shape firm strategy The salary range for this role is $270,000-290,000 and represents the Firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
