The Intern will provide administrative support within the Office of the Chief Legal Officer by assisting with document preparation, records management, policy tracking, and collaborative legal initiatives while gaining exposure to publicsector legal operations. Job Duties What You'll Do: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Administrative Support: Assist with general administrative tasks, including scheduling support, document organization, and maintaining internal files. Document Review & Preparation: Help prepare, format, proofread, and organize memoranda, correspondence, policies, and internal guidance documents. Records & File Management: Assist with organizing electronic and physical legal files, including records related to contracts, policies, litigation holds, and public records matters. Policy & Compliance Support: Assist with tracking policy updates, administrative rules, and internal guidance materials. Data Entry & Tracking: Enter and maintain information in tracking logs, spreadsheets, or databases as directed. Interoffice Collaboration: Work with attorneys and staff across offices to support legal initiatives and requests. Professional Development Exposure: Gain exposure to legal operations within a judicial or publicsector environment. Qualifications What we're looking for QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Undergraduate or graduate student. Undergraduate students must be incoming sophomores or higher. Supplemental Information This internship is designed to be part-time (15 hours per week) beginning after September 1, 2026, and ending before December 31, 2026. Applicants must have the ability to schedule most on-site hours in Columbus between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm weekdays (scheduling is flexible within these hours). If your university program offers credit for internships, we will try to tailor the internship to the length/hours desired. This position will pay $17 per hour to undergraduate students and $21 per hour to graduate students. Intern positions are only eligible for public retirement benefits through OPERS.
