Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Probate Paralegal / Legal Assistant for a direct hire opportunity in Tampa, FL supporting attorneys with probate, estate administration, and estate planning matters for high-net-worth clients. This fully on-site role is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused legal services environment.
The Probate Paralegal / Legal Assistant will play a key role in managing complex estate workflows, preparing legal documents, coordinating with courts and financial institutions, and supporting attorneys throughout all phases of probate and estate administration. Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with probate and estate administration matters, including petitions, inventories, accountings, and related court filings.
- Draft, prepare, review, and organize legal documents related to probate, estate administration, and estate planning.
- Communicate professionally with clients, beneficiaries, courts, financial institutions, and outside stakeholders.
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case preparation and attorney requests.
- Maintain organized case files through document management systems while tracking deadlines, filings, and case activity.
- Interview clients and gather detailed information needed for estate administration and related legal matters.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000 to $80,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support attorneys with probate, estate administration, and related estate planning matters.
- Prepare petitions, inventories, accountings, legal correspondence, and estate-related documentation.
- Coordinate client communications, court filings, deadlines, and case file organization.
- Conduct legal research and assist with complex legal workflows involving high-net-worth clients.
- 6 to 10 years of legal experience required, with strong probate, estate administration, estate planning, or closely related practice area experience.
- Strong understanding of probate procedures, estate administration processes, court filings, and legal documentation.
- Experience using legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Proficiency with document management systems and organized electronic and physical file maintenance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional client interaction.
- Strong attention to detail, discretion, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple active matters in a fast-paced legal environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 to 15+ years of experience supporting attorneys in probate, estate planning, estate administration, or related legal practice areas.
- Experience working with high-net-worth clients and complex estate matters.
- Prior experience coordinating with courts, financial institutions, beneficiaries, and external advisors.
- Strong ability to work independently while supporting attorneys and collaborating with a legal team.
