Our client, a global full-service law firm is looking to fill the need for a direct hire Paralegal Manager. This position reports in a hybrid capacity based out of the downtown San Francisco office location.

Employment type: Direct Hire | M - F | 9am - 5:30pm PT

Hybrid: Three days in-office, two at home
Availability for local and regional office travel, at least twice per month and as needed
Exempt
Salary: $136,000 $179,000 / Annually DOE & Location + Full Benefits

This Paralegal Manager position is responsible for regional management of paralegals across the California offices, to ensure the effective support of paralegal services to the firms lawyers

Responsibilities:

Oversee the performance and success of the California paralegal program, ensuring strong utilization, balanced workloads, high-quality work product, and excellent client service
Manage paralegal staffing, workflow, productivity, and project assignments while addressing resource and performance needs
Maintain knowledge of active matters, paralegal staffing, and paralegal skill sets to support attorneys and ensure effective case management
Coordinate training and professional development programs for paralegal staff.
Review and approve timekeeping, PTO, and other administrative records, and prepare related reports as needed
Manage performance evaluations, compensation reviews, and ongoing coaching and feedback for paralegals
Handle employee relations matters and partner with Human Resources on disciplinary actions and personnel issues
Promote collaboration and communication between the paralegal department and other firm teams and offices
Lead department meetings and regular check-ins with paralegal staff
Support to paralegal recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes for entry-level, senior, and specialist level support staff
Oversee onboarding, orientation, and training for new paralegal hires
Additional duties and ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Senior Paralegal Manager

Qualifications:

A 4-year college degree is required for this role. A JD or MBA is preferred
At least four to five years of paralegal supervisory/management experience, within a large (AmLaw 100 or 200) firm
Available to work overtime, and outside of normal business hours when required
Demonstrated professionalism, diplomacy, and sound judgment within fast-paced corporate environments, with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of management and staff
Proficiency within U.S. civil litigation and arbitration procedures, including trial support, litigation support operations, and discovery management processes
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite, Concordance, Relativity, Westlaw, LexisNexis
Working knowledge of AI tools (CoPilot and Harvey)
Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, organization and and professionalism
Ability to work independently, maintaining tight deadlines and shifting work priorities as needed
