Family Law Legal Assistant (Part Time)
Small Family Law firm has opening for a legal assistant starting July 13, 2026. Experience preferred, but not required. Curiosity and a desire to learn, a positive attitude, compassion for others, and willingness to work toward a common goal are necessary.
About Our Office: We are a small office building comprised of four small, independent law firms. All attorneys practice family law. The position would be supporting two attorneys from two firms. The office is a positive, upbeat, and peaceful environment lacking in drama. Our firm culture is progressive, welcoming, and places value on work-life balance. We value organization, forethought, follow through, new ideas, and a friendly attitude.
Attributes/Skills Desired:
-strong communication skills
-ability to work in a small firm environment (in person)
-experience with Microsoft Outlook & Word & Excel
-experience with use of pleading and billing software programs, or efficiently able to learn new software programs
-ability to multi-task and work independently
-ability to work with others and advocate for needs
-detail oriented and self-motivated
-excellent organization skills and attention to detail
-reliable and high personal integrity
Responsibilities Include:
-scheduling and calendaring appointments, discovery dates, court hearings
-communicating with clients, court staff, and other professional offices
-drafting and preparation of pleadings and filings for court
-drafting correspondence
-opening, organizing, and managing client files
-assisting attorneys with litigation and mediation support
-maintaining highest level of discretion to protect client confidence
Hours: Approx. 22 hours per week (Monday through Thursday)
Compensation: Based on experience
