Provide legal services reled to DLA Energy's acquisition mission to the Commander, logistics managers, and acquisition officials all levels of the organizion.

Legal and policy advice covers all areas of contract formion, for both supply/services contracts, including but not limited to competition, contract authority, socioeconomic issues, commercial item contracting, pricing, protests, and fiscal law.

Issues also include contract administrion mters, such as changes, options, performance, delivery and quality, terminions, alternive dispute resolution, and contract litigion.

Provides support to other practice areas as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1) The first professional law degree (LLB. or J.D.);

2) Proof th you are licensed and a member in good standing with the bar of the highest court of a Ste, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia. Annual bar certificion cards issued from your ste of licensure are not considered acceptable. You must possess professional legal experience in excess of 2 years commensure with the duties and responsibilities of the position.

In accordance with DoDI 1442.2 (Personnel Actions Involving Civilian Attorneys), promotion for this position is based on the individual's time, performance, and mastery of skills the required grade level and only with approval of the designed official (DLA General Counsel) in accordance with the applicable regulion.

PRINCIPAL SELECTION FACTORS:

The following factors used to evalue the suitability of candides for this position:

a. Federal contract law experience (such as breadth, depth, and relevance) and/or significant civil litigion experience (Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals, Government Accountability Office Bid Protests, Court of Federal Claims, other Federal or ste forums). At least two years of relevant experience the next lower Federal grade is mandory. Equivalent military, ste, or prive law experience may be substituted for Federal service.

b. Analytical/legal ability (including issue identificion, legal research, analysis of options, risk analysis, creive problem-solving).

c. Excellent oral and written communicion skills.

d. Excellent interpersonal skills and client relionships, and the ability to interact well with senior officials on controversial and sensitive issues.

e. Excellent legal and business judgment.

Security Clearance : This position is designed Non-Critical Sensitive. If selected, you must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If you are unable to obtain this level of security clearance (as a result of undisclosed or disclosed background issues), within a reasonable period of time (as defined by the agency), the employment offer may be withdrawn. In addition, incumbent is subject to periodic re-investigion to maintain security eligibility in accordance with DoD 5200.2-R.

Drug-Free Workplace Policy

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing.

Applicants tentively selected for employment in testing designed positions will undergo a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Refusal to undergo testing or testing positive for illegal drugs will result in withdrawal of the tentive job offer and a six-month denial of employment with DLA from the de of the drug test. Employees in drug testing designed positions are subject to random drug testing. A negive drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start de).
