Responsibilities:
Draft estate planning documents, including Wills, Revocable Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Directives, and communicate with clients regarding document preparation.
Prepare and file probate petitions and related pleadings in Probate Court.
Administer probate and trust matters from initiation through closing, including assisting fiduciaries with ongoing responsibilities.
Maintain attorney calendars, including court dates, filing deadlines, and client meetings.
Organize and maintain both physical and electronic case files.
Handle Municipal City Court matters, including communication with defendants, defense attorneys, courts, and third parties regarding case status and preparation for bench trials.
Assist with legal research and additional document preparation as needed.
Track billable time and assist with billing entries.
Requirements:
Minimum 2-5 years of paralegal experience with a focus on estate planning and/or probate, or a Paralegal certificate/degree in a related field.
Demonstrated experience drafting estate planning and probate documents.
Working knowledge of Probate Court procedures and filing requirements.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook, with typing speed of 50+ WPM.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with legal billing software such as Timeslips, TABS, or similar platforms.
