Assistant General Counsel: This role advises on commercial contracts, privacy/data matters and artificial intelligence issues including governance. You will ensure the company operates in full compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. Support the Chief Legal Officer in handling legal matters on behalf of the organization. Ensure that all Company service and operating standards are consistently met.
Essential Job Duties:
Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements, including services, consulting, supply, vendor and data processing agreements.
Provide legal advice on contract interpretations, risk allocation, and general corporate matters.
Support vendor management initiatives and contract lifecycle processes.
Develop and deliver legal training on topics such as contracts, vendor management, privacy and related legal topics.
Coordinate with and manage outside counsel as appropriate.
Assist in identifying and implementing processes and legal technology solutions to improve the legal department's efficiency and assist in the management of the Company's contract management system.
Oversees subpoena responses, Workman’s Compensation disputed claims, insured and uninsured litigation, discovery responses, insurance coverage, claims made against the Company, including regular communication and requests of outside counsel.
Prepares reports of pending litigation to PGCB and Management.
Advises Human Resources on employee matters and compliance on employment law matters as needed.
Negotiates, drafts and reviews contracts on behalf of the Company.
Advises management on proposed actions and decisions to ensure that such actions are taken in a legally sound manner.
Works with Risk Management Department to address matters to reduce the risk of injuries to employees and patrons.
Manages area of responsibility effectively within budgetary guidelines by monitoring and controlling operational and payroll costs.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate degree and Admission to practice law in the State of Pennsylvania required. Broad legal knowledge and experience in all areas of the law.
Must have excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, as well as solid negotiating skills, and strong platform skills.
Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and through written communications.
