Title: Litigation AttorneyLocation: San Diego, CASalary: $140k-$180k/yr DOEPosition OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Litigation Attorney to join our firms civil litigation team. The successful candidate will manage a caseload focused on insurance defense, complex civil matters, and construction-related disputes. This role requires strong courtroom advocacy, strategic case analysis, and client-focused communication to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining high ethical and professional standards.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a diverse litigation caseload from initial intake through trial and appeal, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations with persuasive advocacy and professional demeanor.Develop and implement litigation strategies for insurance defense, complex civil litigation, and construction defect or contract disputes.Conduct legal research and analysis to support case theories, draft memoranda, and prepare briefs for hearings and trials.Collaborate with claims professionals, expert witnesses, and co-counsel to evaluate liability, damages, and settlement options.Prepare and review contracts, indemnity provisions, insurance policies, and related documents relevant to litigation and defense strategies.Manage deadlines, case budgets, and client communications to ensure timely and cost-effective representation.Mentor and supervise junior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, and contribute to business development and firm initiatives.QualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in the hiring jurisdiction.3+ years of litigation experience, with demonstrated work in insurance defense, complex civil litigation, and construction-related matters preferred.Proven trial experience and comfort conducting depositions, hearings, and trials in state and/or federal courts.Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to draft persuasive briefs and motions.Familiarity with insurance policy interpretation, coverage analysis, indemnity issues, and construction law principles.Excellent client service skills, including the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and manage client expectations.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, manage competing deadlines, and handle a high-volume caseload.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with litigation management software and research tools.
