Position Overview
The firm is seeking a litigation attorney with direct mortgage industry experience handling contested matters on behalf of mortgage lenders and servicers.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in mortgage servicing litigation, foreclosure litigation, creditor rights, bankruptcy, or related real estate litigation and be comfortable independently managing a high-volume contested caseload.
This position requires a strong understanding of the mortgage servicing industry, foreclosure processes, creditor rights enforcement, and lender representation in both state and federal court proceedings.
Represent mortgage lenders, servicers, banks, and financial institutions in contested foreclosure, creditor rights, bankruptcy, and real estate litigation matters
Independently manage litigation matters from inception through final resolution
Handle all phases of litigation including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
Draft and review motions, briefs, settlement agreements, foreclosure-related pleadings, and other litigation documents
Appear in state and federal courts on behalf of mortgage industry clients
Advise lender and servicer clients regarding litigation strategy, risk exposure, compliance considerations, and resolution options
Handle title disputes, foreclosure defense matters, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, and related creditor rights litigation
Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and clients to ensure timely and effective case management
Support multi-state litigation matters involving Missouri, Kansas, and Kentucky jurisdictions

Qualifications
Active Missouri Bar license and good standing required
Willingness to obtain licensure in Kansas and Kentucky
3-5 years of litigation experience required
Direct experience representing mortgage lenders, mortgage servicers, banks, or financial institutions strongly preferred
Prior experience in foreclosure litigation, mortgage servicing litigation, creditor rights, bankruptcy, default servicing, or real estate litigation required/preferred
Strong knowledge of mortgage foreclosure procedures, creditor rights processes, and mortgage servicing-related litigation
Courtroom, motion practice, and contested case management experience required
Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills
Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload with minimal supervision
Strong organizational, communication, and client service skills
