The United Stes Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Texas has a vacancy for an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Division in the Beaumont office. Attorneys in the Civil Division represent the United Stes, its agencies and their offices in both defensive and affirmive litigion. This position responsible for the litigion of claims involving, among other things, health care fraud, environmental mters, defense procurement fraud, torts, administrive enforcement actions, Touhy mters, prisoner litigion, housing and employment discriminion, and disability rights mters. The selected torney will handle all aspects of investigions and cases, including ghering evidence, taking testimony, writing briefs, and appearing in court hearings and trials. The torney may also handle other types of cases as needed.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments come more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualificions

Required Qualificions : Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree (or equivalent), be an active member in good standing of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction) and have least one-year post-J.D. (or equivalent) legal or other relevant experience.

A minimum of 3-years post-J.D. (or equivalent) legal or other relevant experience is required . United Stes citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualificions : Applicants must demonstre a quick analytical ability to accurely and precisely articule the critical issues in a case. Applicants must demonstre superior oral and writing skills, as well as strong research and interpersonal skills, and good judgment. Applicants must possess excellent communicion and courtroom skills and exhibit the ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with other torneys, support staff, and client agencies. Salary Informion : Assistant United Stes Attorney's pay is administrively determined based, in part, on the number of years of professional torney experience. The range of basic pay is $70,442,to $153,834 per year.

Beaumont, Texas: Salary is $82,459 to $180,078 which includes a 17.06% locality pay.
