The Position
The Senior Construction Litigation Attorney will manage a caseload involving insurance defense, general liability, and construction-related litigation, including York Labor Law matters. The ideal candidate will demonstrate both legal proficiency and strategic insight, while also being capable of independently managing cases through trial.
Responsibilities
Independently manage a caseload of construction litigation matters, including NY Labor Law claims, from inception through resolution or trial
Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances
Collaborate with partners and team members on case strategy and complex legal issues
Communicate regularly with clients, providing timely updates, legal analysis, and strategic recommendations
Ensure compliance with court deadlines, procedural requirements, and firm standards
Utilize legal research tools and case management systems effectively
Qualifications
JD from an ABA-accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with the York State Bar
7+ years of proven Labor Law construction experience
Experience with insurance defense, premises liability, and general liability matters
Demonstrated experience as first and/or second chair strongly desired.
Advanced understanding of NY Construction Law (Labor Law *200, 240, 241), preferred
Experience with OSHA proceedings and regulatory compliance is a plus
Strong organizational and case management abilities
Proficiency with legal research platforms and case management software
A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
Salary Range:
$185,000 $225,000 USD
