Description
The San Francisco office of Squire Patton Boggs, a global law firm, seeks an Executive Legal Secretary to provide legal and administrative support to multiple litigation attorneys.
Primary responsibilities include:
Draft, type, revise, proofread and format legal documents, correspondence, memoranda, and e-mail
Perform administrative tasks such as preparing expense reports, check requests, client required forms and time entry
Assist multiple attorneys simultaneously while prioritizing urgent and time-sensitive tasks
Maintain attorneys' calendar, calendar / track deadlines and follow up to ensure timely filings and responses
Superior knowledge of e-filing and court procedures (state and federal) / prepare and file legal documents with courts in compliance with court rules and deadlines including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, subpoenas and correspondence
Coordinate service of process, discovery exchanges, and filings with opposing counsel and courts
Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness and exhibit lists, binders, and other trial materials
Manage and organize case files (electronic and physical), ensuring accuracy
Perform other secretarial duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred
Minimum 5 years of legal litigation secretarial experience, preferably in a law firm
Strong typing skills with high accuracy; ability to type, read and write in order to proofread and perform initial input and revisions to legal documents, correspondence, memoranda and email
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and use good judgment in order to meet deadlines
Superior knowledge of Windows and Microsoft office a must (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Prior experience working in iManage, preferred
Excellent verbal and written communications
A self-starter that takes initiative and is a team player
Ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and meet strict deadlines
Ability to work overtime, when needed
Ability to be in the office on a hybrid schedule
California salary range $85,000 - $115,000.
