Summary:
The Associate Corporate Counsel role is a professional staff attorney assisting the MaineHeaIth Associate General Counsel and other supervising attorneys. The general job responsibility is to provide certain categories of legal services to MaineHeaIth members; in particular, managing claims and litigation; functioning as a subject matter expert in labor and employment law and other areas as assigned; performing legal research; and reviewing and drafting agreements. Responsibilities also include providing advice to managers throughout MaineHeaIth regarding legal and regulatory considerations in labor and employment law, patient care, and health care operations but on topics more limited than those of more senior attorneys in the Department. The Associate Corporate Counsel will also perform other assignments made by the Associate General Counsel or other supervising attorneys.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Completion of a three-year post Baccalaureate education program with knowledge of the practice of law required.
- License/Certifications: Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Maine. Admission to Maine State Bar is required.
- Experience: Demonstrated ability to draft and edit contracts and other legal documents, as well as policies and recommendations.
