Nurse Paralegal (Remote)

We are seeking a part-time as needed Nurse Paralegal with 3-5 years of clinical experience (preferably critical care or emergency room nursing) to join our Litigation team. This role will be remote, supporting multiple lawyers’ in all our offices. Prior experience within the legal field is a plus but not required. Training will be provided as needed.

What You Will Do:

The following duties would be expected of you as Nurse Paralegal at our Firm:

• Support attorneys with medical-related  litigation with an emphasis on insurance defense.
• Analysis and summarization of medical records for case assessment in a variety of cases including medical malpractice, personal injury, workplace injury, and product liability.
• Create medical chronologies, timelines, and narrative summaries of medical records.
• Web-based research for pertinent medical literature, illustrations/diagrams, and data to assist attorneys in understanding medical issues of the case.
• Review/audit medical bills for reasonableness and relevancy to alleged injuries.
• Consultation as necessary with attorneys to discuss cases, medical procedures, anatomy, etc. to aid in their understanding of medical issues and evaluation of damages.
• Assist attorney and paralegal with preparation for mediations, arbitrations, and trial.

What You Will Bring:

Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including business writing and grammar.
• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Microsoft Office proficiency and ability to learn proprietary software systems and databases (e.g., Litify, Power PDF, LMS).
• A team player with the ability to integrate into a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities to meet client needs.
• 3-5 years of recent clinical experience, preferably in critical care or emergency room nursing.
