Paralegal Short-Term Assignment (13 months)
Location: Richmond, CA (onsite)
Schedule: Full-time, MondayFriday
Pay: $40$45/hour (DOE)
Were seeking an experienced Paralegal to support the legal team of a respected public agency in Richmond, CA. This onsite role is expected to last 13 months , with the possibility of extension.
REQUIREMENT:
Applicants must have experience reviewing and drafting responses to subpoenas , discovery requests (including RFPs, ROGs, RFAs), and Public Records Act (PRA) requests . This experience is essential for consideration.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and respond to legal records requests, including subpoenas, discovery, and PRA requests
File and e-file legal documents in State and Federal courts (including ECF and Contra Costa Superior Court)
Conduct legal research and reference court rules (Federal, State, and local)
Manage dockets using PACER and other legal tools
Draft discovery shells and litigation documents using templates
Calendar and track legal deadlines and hearing dates
Organize and manage litigation files using iManage or similar systems
Provide light front-office support as needed
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal or legal assistant
Strong understanding of litigation process and court filing requirements
Proficiency with iManage, PACER, Westlaw, and Microsoft Office
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and written communication skills
Public sector or government experience is a plus
