Overview
I am seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join my legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of family law legal processes. This role is essential in supporting the attorney with various tasks, ensuring that the legal operations run smoothly and efficiently. The Family Law Paralegal will be responsible for hearing and trial preparations, scheduling, managing case files, assisting in the preparation of legal documents, and other office management tasks.

Duties

  • Manage and organize legal case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, process discovery, and prepare exhibits for hearings and trials.
  • Provide administrative support to the attorney as needed, including scheduling client meetings, meeting with other attorneys, contacting witnesses, hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and managing calendars.
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information for cases.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while adhering to ethical standards in the legal field.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Family Law Paralegal. At least 3 years of Family Law Paralegal experience required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of Florida E-filing portal and knowledge/understanding of Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure and local administrative rules.
  • Proficiency in legal case management software and document management systems. Knowledge of Clio and DPA is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Excellent computer skills - Outlook, Office, Word, Excel, Visio, or similar family law software.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
